STARFINDER PHILOSOPHY

Children are like human clay. The earlier you can start working with them the more successful you will be in helping to mold and shape their attitude, character and value system.

As soccer coaches and parents, we must change the lens through which we see the game. We must take off our biased bifocals and see our children’s performance with a clear perspective.

Trophies do not make players and there is far too much emphasis placed on winning and losing at too young an age. Not enough time is spent on educating these children that principles are more important than goals, values are more important than victories and character is more important than championships.

As soccer coaches, we realize the influence we can have on the lives of the children we coach and strive to use this in the most socially responsible manner possible. At Starfinder we believe that in developing the person we will develop the player and that we should be both encouraging and challenging our children to:

  • Build a strong moral character

  • Strive to achieve academic excellence

  • Live with a positive attitude

Our hope and desire is that by planting the seeds of greatness within each of our students, our programs can nurture their development, support their growth and provide a strong habitual root system from which they can achieve their maximum potential.
