9/12/12: PAGS and Starfinder Foundation Join Forces to Enhance Girls Sports Education Programs
Malvern, PA (12 September 2012) Philadelphia Area Girls Soccer (PAGS) and StarfinderFoundation (Starfinder) today announced a community soccer partnership to improve access to sports for girls.
PAGS Executive Director, Tom Corey explained, “We have joined forces with Starfinder because we believe so strongly in the important work they do to broaden outreach and educational programs in the soccer community. Their Soccer Girls Rule program particularly addresses the factors that prevent so many urban girls from participating in sports.”
Stephen Baumann, President & CEO of Starfinder Foundation agrees: “Urban girls face particular cultural and societal challenges that discourage them from participating in sports. Our Soccer Girls Rule initiative is designed to address those factors. We are excited to have PAGS on our team to generate greater enthusiasm and support for girls soccer.”
