8/8/11: Team Returns from Sweden
The boys are back from the Gothia Cup in Sweden and from all we have gleaned it was a trip of a lifetime. The 1-3 record is not indicative of the way they played with their performance getting better after each match and a few bounces not going their way. The team that won their group ended up in the A Final where they lost to a team from Brazil. The boys learned a lot about what it takes to put together a team and not just play, but get a result.
The boys were very popular among the visiting teams and in their down time held sway on the futsal court in the courtyard of the school where they stayed. The coaches reported that they were very well behaved and that the boys had lots of fun exploring on their own in Gothenburg. Beside spending a lot of time at the Gothia Cup disco, the team also went to the amusement park, the archipelago, the Universeum, and watched lots of matches.
The boys gained a lot of experience and have many stories to share about their individual experiences. They are in the process of writing their own impressions of the trip which we will collate and put for everyone to read shortly.
