10/28/10: Starfinder Welcomes 2 New Board Members
Starfinder is pleased to announce that George S. Hasenecz and A. Hobart (Hobie) Porter have joined the Board of Directors.
George is the Senior Vice President for Investments at Brandywine Realty Trust. He is responsible for the company's portfolio management and investment activities. George previously served as Brandywine's Vice President of Investments and Director of Acquisitions from 2000 to 2006. He worked at ProLogis as Vice President for Capital Deployment from 2006 to 2008 where he oversaw development and investments for the New Jersey and Pennsylvania regions. Prior to his tenure at Brandywine, George served as Vice President for Acquisitions with Keystone Property Trust. He has previously served on the board of the Montgomery County Chapter of the Red Cross and as a volunteer tutor with Junior Achievement. George received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance from Drexel University in 1991. He played high school soccer and continues to be interested in all aspects of the game. He is an original member of the Sons of Ben, the Philadelphia Union's supporter group and is a dedicated Union fan.
Hobie is a vice president and manager of business development for Glenmede. He is responsible for the development of new high net worth business with individuals, families, endowments, and foundations from Glenmede's Philadelphia office. In addition, he fosters and maintains existing client relationships enhancing the Company's reputation as a specialized wealth manager. Prior to joining Glenmede, Hobie served for fourteen years as Director of Institutional Advancement at The Haverford School where he planned and executed the School's Capital Campaign that raised over $30 million. Before that, he was a managing director at PNC Merchant Bank, supervising the Bank's eastern regional corporate finance subsidiary. Hobie received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from Trinity College. While at The Haverford School, he served as a board executive committee member of the Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools. Currently, he serves on the Gift Planning Advisory Group (GPAG) for the Philadelphia Zoo. Hobie has a long association with soccer as a player and coach.
Both George and Hobie believe strongly in the youth development mission of Starfinder and have seen in their own lives the importance of sport as a cornerstone for personal growth. We eagerly anticipate the many contributions that they will make in helping to enhance our efforts to foster accomplishment and excellence with all of our participants.
